Overview

The poron layer then does two jobs: it absorbs the impact and vibration where the stabilizer housing meets the board, killing the hollow tick, and it takes up the microscopic play that lets a stabilizer wobble. Poron is the foam of choice in the hobby because it damps well, keeps its shape over years of key presses and does not crumble. The stickers work with standard screw-in PCB-mount stabilizers, the type used in most custom keyboard kits.

Fitting Them in a Build

The stickers go on during a build or a stabilizer re-tune, since the stabilizers must come off to fit them. With the PCB bare, clean the stabilizer areas, peel each sticker and place it aligned with the stabilizer footprint so the screw holes and clip openings stay clear, then mount the stabilizers over them as normal. Combined with a light lubing of the wires, this is the classic recipe for silent, solid stabilized keys. The 60 percent set covers the stabilizer positions of a compact board; the 104 set covers a full-size layout including the number pad.
